Video Review – Hachette Exclusive ALIEN Figure.

If you are lucky enough to live in France and be in a position to enjoy the luxury of being a subscriber to Hachette’s build your own ALIEN series, then you’ll be fortunate to receive an exclusive figure available only in the latest edition. Lucky for the rest of us outside the land of half scale DIY motion sensor activated ALIEN kits who have no access to such things, Baptiste Coudert has provided us with a brief little video review of the item.

Baptiste has a few minor issues with the static 7 inch piece but this figure mounted on a round display stand still boasts plenty of great detail and a great aggressive pose to go with it. No doubt, this little Big Chap will be difficult to find outside of France due to the exclusive nature of it being available as an inclusion in the part builder subscription present only in that country. You may be lucky to find one on eBay, sometime. IF you’re lucky.

Video Review – 2021 ALIEN Day ReAction Figures.

ALIEN Day has been and gone and while any new announcements were scant at best, once again Super7 celebrated the occasion by releasing a set of ALIEN ReAction figures. Six new Alien creature items and an exclusive ALIEN Day release of Pvt. Hudson appeared on their web store. Here is Baptiste Coudert video appraisal of these recently released figures.

Generally a mixed bag all round with familiar sculpts mixed in with fresh ones. …and yes, the Runner/Dog Alien is definitely the inspired item in this release. An interesting batch, that’s for sure. Thank you Baptiste for making this video appraisal.

Video Review – Eaglemoss ALIEN Space Craft.

It’s Christmas. Around this in 2093, the Weyland space exploratory vehicle lands on LV-223. Instead of opening their Christmas presents, the crew open Pandora’s Box, thus setting in motion a series of events that may well spell doom for all of Mankind. All the same, here’s a video review of several Eaglemoss spacecraft, including the Prometheus – just in time for Christmas by Baptiste Coudert.

Also present in the review is the Cargo Lifter from ALIEN Covenant and the APC from ALIENS. An all round solid trio of vehicles from Eaglemoss. These vehicles are all given the wonderful, detailed appraisal delivered with the signature disembodied French voice and hairy arms we’ve come to expect from Baptiste’s video reviews. Great stuff.

Lanard Reveal 7 Inch ALIEN Collection Toys.

Lanard Toys have upped the scale of their ALIEN Collection toys in Wave 2 of this series of popular ALIEN range with their upcoming “Special Edition Collector Series”. This will be a set of three 7 inch figures, doubling the size of their previous line of 3.75 inch ALIEN toys. Here’s an unboxing video of what you can expect the upcoming toy range to look like:

Present in this new line of toys will be creatures already released by Lanard but in a new, larger 1/12 scale. All three original ALIEN movies are represented with with larger versions of each of the Drone, Warrior and Dog Aliens. Each includes accessories with the Runner Alien from ALIEN 3 being the stand out package in this line up as it is accompanied by Murphy’s Rottweiler, Spike. No goofy repurposed space marines – not yet, anyway – have been revealed as part of this line up. Nonetheless, more unannounced ALIEN Collection products are planned for release by Lanard Toys; but for now, this “Special Edition Collector Series” selection is a tremendous follow up to their already popular line up.

These ALIEN toys will retail for around $10 apiece; and when these toys do become available to the public, they will be age rated for 7 year olds. Buy some ten dollar face ripping joy for your child! They will be available through Walmart in the US and are also expected to appear on shelves at Smyths stores in the UK. Release date for these is anticipated to be soon after Christmas.

Great stuff! I love it.

Video Review – Lanard Toys ALIEN by Kaiju King.

Here’s a superb unboxing and video review from The Kaiju King featuring Lanard Toys ALIEN Collection series. There’s a lot of joy to be taken from this video as this young lad – whose name I didn’t quite catch –  unpacks and provides his appraisal of his new toys.

I watch a lot of ALIEN action figure and collectible reviews on YouTube and this one has definitely become a favourite. Just about every other video I’ve seen features adults reviewing adult ALIEN collectibles. It’s refreshing to see such a young child evaluating ALIEN toys that are actually appropriate to his age group. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with adults messing around with such playthings on camera, either; but this young fellow hits all the right points including some critical evaluation towards the end. Fun stuff. Great job there, Kid. More videos from you about upcoming Lanard ALIEN toys will be greatly appreciated.  More, please!

Video Review – Eaglemoss and NECA.

Unboxing videos? Yeah. I love unboxing videos. I love unboxing videos made by Baptiste Coudert. So here’s a sweet little video featuring his disembodied French voice and hairy arms praising the merits of NECA’s recently released 7 inch tall 40th Anniversary figures. All 7 of them released to date (Ultimate Alien, Ripley, Kane, Translucent Alien, Brett, Parker and …yet another Alien, this one bloodied). Check it out. It’s great fun as always.

But wait, there’s more! Continue reading

VIDEO REVIEW – Eaglemoss Vent Attack Alien

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Baptiste Coudert but he’s back now and has posted his latest video review. This time he takes a look at Eaglemoss recently released Vent Attack Alien in their Mega range of statuettes. Let’s see what he’s got to say about it.

I think he likes it. It’s a unique pose to have the creature in, that’s for sure that emulates the Alien’s sudden appearance when it abducts Dallas. I hope your recent house move went well, Baptiste; and welcome back to where you really belong – with us like minded strange folk who also love this weird stuff.

VIDEO REVIEWS – A Baptiste Coudert Hat Trick.

Everybody loves video reviews.  Today, we have 3 video unboxings from one of my favourite reviewers, Baptiste Coudert.  On this occasion, he shares his appraisal of 6 ALIEN figures with us all.  A trio of NECA items and a trio of Super7 ReAction figures.

Once again, be totally seduced by the disembodied French narration accompanied by abundantly hairy arms in these no nonsense, straight to the point appraisals of no less than 6 figures across 3 great video unboxings.  I love it.  You should, too. Here are the reviews:

NECA – Kenner Tribute Snake Alien and Scorpion Alien.
NECA – ALIEN: Resurrection Queen Alien.
Super7 – Blue Card Wave 3 ALIEN ReAction figures, Ripley, Dallas, Bloody Alien.

Thanks again for these, Baptiste.

VIDEO REVIEW – Super7 ReAction SPACE VILLAIN Wave 3.

Video reviews.  Everyone loves video reviews, right?  Here’s Baptiste Coudert with his latest appraisal.  This time around Baptiste takes to opening a fresh case of Wave 3, 12x Super7 ALIEN ReAction figures with a craft knife. If you want to watch a Frenchman risk cutting his finger tips off with a sharp blade, then this video is for you! Let’s see how this works out:

Pretty neat, actually.  I do like the purple one – and the black and green blood spattered item is much better in hand than images or video can convey. I found the Kane figure a little insipid and felt it needed something more. If it glowed in the dark it would be worthy of the exclusive status it has. Thank you for sharing, Baptiste. This was great as always. Next time, it might be a good idea to use scissors to open those bags. Just for safety sake.  Y’know..?

VIDEO REVIEWS: NECA ALIEN 3 Creature Pack and RESURRECTION Series.

Video reviews. We all love ’em, right?  Baptiste Coudert has just released a fresh pair of reviews for you to enjoy; and maybe help determine if these items are worthy of your hard earned cash.  Both closely look at the contents of recent NECA releases.

Firstly, he inspects the ALIEN 3 Creature Pack, a set of accessories based on smaller Alien forms from the 3rd movie featuring the Queen Face Hugger and Queen Alien Chestburster along with the Dog ‘Bambi Burster’ Alien and Spike, the rottweiler.

…and a 2nd fine video featuring his appraisal of NECA’s Series 14 ALIEN Resurrection items featuring Ripley 8, a Clone Alien Warrior and the Newborn Alien all of which are packaged separately and appear in the fourth movie.  All good stuff I say.

Go check ’em out!  Support Baptiste and his efforts as his videos come with some excellent commentary without all the crummy time wasting filler other reviewers like to pad their videos with.

VIDEO REVIEW: 2019 Medicom Mafex ALIEN.

Is it time for a video review?  Yeah.  Let’s do it.  Actually, it’s time for a video review by Baptiste Coudert.  Baptiste is my favourite ALIEN action figure reviewer on YouTube.  I love the no nonsense, get stuck into the subject at hand style without silly intros or prefacing.  It’s a format I love so I’m always happy to see more.  This time around Baptiste shares his opinion of Medicom’s 2019 Mafex ALIEN action figure with us.  I think he likes it.

As usual, the signature sexy disembodied French voice and hairy arms playing with ALIEN action figures doesn’t disappoint.  So stop wasting your time reading my semi coherent nonsense and rip into the great unboxing and video review posted above.

Thank you again, Baptiste, for sharing your appraisal of this wonderful item with us all.  Love your work.

VIDEO REVIEW: 2010 Kaiyodo ALIEN Figure.

Let’s check out a video review!  Everyone loves these things.  Baptiste Coudert posted one recently about Funko’s 40th Anniversary ALIEN POP! figures and he’s already pushed another out the door.

This time, he’s decided to scrutinise a figure that was released in 2010, the Kaiyodo Revoltech ALIEN figure.  It’s been almost a decade since this little Big Chap was released and he is becoming more valuable and difficult to find.  Thankfully, you can rely on Baptiste to give you a solid run down on what you are missing out on.  Aren’t you lucky?

Anyway, it’s a great video; and thank you once again Monsieur Coudert for posting this.

VIDEO REVIEW: Funko ALIEN 40th Anniversary POP! Figures.

Everything has become a little quiet in regards to ALIEN announcements lately.  I’m guessing everyone is hanging onto their BIG reveals until April 26, ALIEN Day.  In the meantime, let’s see what else the community has to offer.  How about a video review?  Everybody loves these.

Baptiste Coudert has graced us with his informative appraisal of Funko’s 40th Anniversary ALIEN POP! Ripley and Alien  figures.  This is a pair of neat figures even if POP!s aren’t your thing.

As always, thank you Baptiste for posting this.

VIDEO REVIEW: Eaglemoss Mega Scale ALIENS Warrior Statue.

A relative newcomer to the ALIEN and PREDATOR property, Eaglemoss sure has enjoyed a prolific output to date.  As such, their product can vary considerably.  One example of high quality is their Mega Scale ALIENS warrior statue.  It’s fitting we appreciate this larger scale figure from the stand point of someone with a keen interest and a sense of balanced criticism.

To this end, fellow ALIEN enthusiast, Michael Floyd takes us on an informative whirlwind appraisal noting the pros and cons of what Eaglemoss have to offer with this item.  Thanks, Michael, for the video review.

VIDEO REVIEW: Eaglemoss ALIEN Resurrection Goodies.

Ah! It’s time for another fine video review by Baptiste Coudert. This time he’s scrutinising Ripley 8 and the Newborn figurines from Eaglemoss.

I love Baptiste’s reviews. Pared right back to solely focus on what’s important – the figures and packaging. Simple. Effective. Straight to the point and without wasting time on talking heads and other trivialities.

It seems there’s been a lot of ALIEN Resurrection activity around here lately. Wasn’t this year supposed to be the 40th Anniversary of the first movie? Just wondering when it’s actually going to feel like it.

VIDEO REVIEW: Hiya Toys Crusher and Raven Aliens.

It’s New Year’s Eve and what better way to wind up the last day of the old year than with a video review? Here is yet another appraisal of ALIEN figures by Baptiste Coudert. This time he’s evaluating Hiya Toys Crusher and Raven figures, a pair of Aliens appearing in the video game ALIENS: Colonial Marines.

I’ve featured Baptiste’s reviews on HIDEOUS PLASTIC before. Many times in fact. What exactly is it I like about them? Is it the charming disembodied French accented voice extolling the virtues of space monstery goodness..? Is it the hairy arms constantly in view manipulating ugly ass toys..? Is it the no nonsense presentation focusing unerringly on the topic of discussion, reviewing ALIEN action figures? Well, actually, it’s all of these things. They’re all signature marks that work as a whole – and I love it.

Thank you, Baptiste. I am looking forward to more video reviews from you in 2019.

Baptiste Coudert Reviews Super7 ALIEN Wave 3

I’ve been waiting for this video review from one of my favourite reviewers to hit the ‘Tube.  Now it’s here. Baptiste Coudert gives us some insightful commentary and what he thinks of Super7’s recently released ALIEN ReAction figures, Wave 3 Nostromo Crew Packs.

Baptiste talks us through all 3 packaged sets and contents.  He provides a brief run down on all 9x 3.75 inch collectible action figures appearing in this line up.  Go watch the review!

VIDEO REVIEW: Eaglemoss ALIEN Covenant Xenomorph

It’s our good friend, Baptiste Coudert; and he’s back again for another unboxing video review.  This time around he’s investigating the recently released Eaglemoss ALIEN Covenant Xenomorph figurine.  Or is it the Protomorph..?  …or maybe Xenomorph V1.0.  Hell.  I’ve seen it referred to each of these monikers at one point or another.

Anyway, check out the review:

Looks like a neat little piece.  I like it.  Its general morphology is very good and the detail is terrific.  The finger count on each hand is incorrect – it should have 1 thumb and 5 fingers but if it comes down to being petty on such nitty-gritty anomalies, hey that makes it a damn good item in my book.

Thank you once again for the review, Baptiste.  Always love your work.  More please!

VIDEO REVIEW: Eaglemoss Sulaco Ship.

It’s time for another Video Review by Baptiste Coudert.  This time he turns his eager unboxing skills to the removal and appraisal of the Eaglemoss model of the USS Sulaco, the Conestoga class ship that appears in ALIENS.  You knew that already, right?

Well, let’s find out what Baptiste Coudert thinks of this release from Eaglemoss in his latest unboxing review.

As always, thanks for the great rundown on the item.  Love your work.
