Super 7 have released this image of their upcoming 18″ ALIENS action figure derived from the 1979 Kenner action figure. This image teases the release date: 1 March, 2017.

Super 7 intend to release a pair of variants of this figure.   A ‘Classic Toy’ finish in flat black with glow in the dark highlights and another, ‘Marine Ambush’, in a brushed copper finish is expected to be available as well.  Very soon, by the looks of it.  You can’t get Continue reading

Kickstarter Update – Pre-Launch Auto-Cycle Engaged.

Today I finalised the remaining components of HIDEOUS PLASTIC’s KickStarter campaign to get the book funded for publishing.  This means I am getting ready to make the big launch!  I am setting a day aside, tomorrow, to review the entire campaign and make any last minute changes.

The video and several minor costing elements that were missing until today were finally  put into place.   At this stage, everything is running smoothly and the campaign will be Continue reading

NECA’s Club X ALIEN International Plus Bonuses Explained.

NECA have released a ton of information and images regarding their CLUB x ALIEN initiative.  Included in the details is News about international partners, bonus revelations and some clarifications about what membership content entails.

Just take a look at that official image!  If that doesn’t conjure up your best notions of what Saturday morning cartoons should be like, then nothing will.  Actually it’s easier if I just let NECA have their say: Continue reading

Reviewed: NECA’s David 8 Action Figure.

ALIEN: Covenant is coming.  Let’s not forget it’s a sequel of sorts to PROMETHEUS.  We’ll be seeing the return of the late Mr. Weyland’s Pride and Joy – the android David 8.

NECA released a version of the character in their popular 7 inch action figure format some time back as part of their PROMETHEUS Series 2 line up.  David 8 was a mighty cool character; but does the action figure live up to those standards?  You can read the review right here.

NECA Officially Reveals ALIEN Series 11 Details.

We know NECA’s Series 11 ALIEN figures have been coming for sometime but we now have exact details.  Of most significance to me is the Lambert figure, which is the first time an official likeness has been granted by Veronica Cartright; and even better, Lambert has 2 heads!

Well, 2 interchangeable heads, that is.  Not 2 at the same time.  I don’t think Lambert is some kind of chimera.  The facial details and 1970s hair style looks very well sculpted and Continue reading

NECA CLUB x ALIEN Announced. Wotisit?

NECA have announced their NECA CLUB x ALIEN promotional incentive to anyone who is an “hardcore, completionist Alien action figure collector”.  Maybe this club is for you.

What exactly is this club; and what are its benefits?  Let’s find out. “Membership provides advance access to all of NECA’s Alien action figure releases, including convention and Continue reading

Toy Fair 2017: My Personal Favorite so far.

There’s a ton of News regarding ALIEN action figures and toys coming out of Toy Fair 2017 and honestly, it’s a bit much.  So far, my favorite items are the pair of Kenner inspired Super 7 1986 ALIENS Warriors.  These items immediately elevated themselves to the top of  my ‘must have list’.

The important thing is the details on the display card front and center between both figures Continue reading

Toy Fair 2017: Eaglemoss Hero Series.

Man… the News just does not stop.  It looks like Eaglemoss also have a display of their ALIEN Collector Statue Series at this year’s Toy Fair.

This series of Toys is a subscription based model with the first introductory item being the Big Chap as seen above.  There’s going to be a new pair of ALIEN and PREDATOR based figures shipped to subscribers every month.  Wow.  There’s a ton more images in ToyArk’s gallery.

Toy Fair 2017: Super 7 ALIENS M.U.S.C.L.E. Toys.

Following up on their earlier range of diminutive ALIEN M.U.S.C.L.E. toys, Super 7 have revealed their new ALIENS range of bite size pliable rubbery merchandise at Toy Fair 2017.  Once again, there’s more images over at ToyArk.

I still don’t know what to make of these things.  They look like dog biscuits, to me.  I guess the family dog will get as much joy out of chewing on them as Junior will have playing with Continue reading

Toy Fair 2017: Super 7 ReAnimated Figures – ‘COMING SOON’!

I don’t know anything about these items just yet but they look to be a companion series to Super7’s extant range of ALIEN ReAction figures but given a more 21st Century treatment.

What we see here is a pair of Aliens, completely different from Super 7’s previous treatment of the character.   A totally fresh set of sculpts. The white figure is of Continue reading

Toy Fair 2017: Super 7 Series 3 ALIEN ReAction and Blind Box Figures Revealed.

The News keeps pouring in… and it’s all good, too!  ToyArk via Bloody Disgusting has released photos of Super 7’s new Series 3 line up of their ALIEN ReAction figures.

Importantly, we’ll be seeing new characters represented in this line up. Brett, Parker and Lambert will all be released by the looks of it. All dressed in Nostromo crew gear.  It also Continue reading

NECA Announces ALIEN: Covenant Line Up.

Finally NECA have spilled the beans on what they plan to release based on the upcoming Ridley Scott move, ALIEN: Covenant.  While there’s no pretty pictures of most of what will be hitting shelves until the movie is released on May 19 at least we have some descriptions of what to expect; and that’s a good thing! Here’s the line up of what we can expect and the available descriptions: Continue reading

A Small KickStarter Progress Update.

I like posting Progress Reports.  I like letting people know how this Project is progressing.  I think you like to know, too.  I think they’re important.

The KickStarter campaign is rapidly nearing the point where it can be submitted to KickStarter admins for approval.  It will then appear on their page soon thereafter.  That submission will take place in about a week so we have roughly 7 days until the campaign is ready for approval.  I anticipate having all the components in place by then and that the KS admins will be pleased to feature this campaign on their platform.

Aside from a small selection of items that require my attention, the most important component is the campaign video.  It’s just folly to under-estimate how important a video is to a crowd sourcing campaign so that item is currently being assembled and looking good.

In the meantime, don’t forget we also have an instagram page.  Check it out.  There’s a growing selection of goodies being added by SiL just like this sweet little item:

More coming soon…

Reviewed: NECA Series 9 Frost and Vasquez.

I am always interested in seeing what other people think of anything to do with ALIEN action figures (old and new).  Here’s another unboxing and review by PRJ_since1990.  As always, PRJ delivers the goods with a great unboxing and video review.  Are these action figures worth watching a grown man ‘flip a table’?  Watch the review and find out!

Duration 16:36

Entertaining, informative and spiced up with good humor, PRJ_since1990 deserves more recognition for his efforts.  Don’t forget to like, subscribe and enjoy his endless crusade against the evils of twist ties.  This never gets old.

Just a Minor KickStarter Update… Yet a Major Win.

I spent a lot of time in a meeting with my Publisher today.  We talked a lot about the book and importantly I had a Kenner alien with me to completely help them conceptually nail what HIDEOUS PLASTIC was about.  The result was the same 2 responses people generally have when they first lay eyes on this Classic vintage toy:

1).  “Oh my God…  It’s huge!”

2).  “This thing was marketed to children?  You’re kidding me, right..?”

We had a good chat about the goals of the book, its intended market, sales expectations, Continue reading

KickStarter – Improv Studio.

Right now, the video for the HIDEOUS PLASTIC KickStarter campaign is currently being cut and shaped into something presentable for the campaign when it is launched in early March.Yeah. That’s me in the photo.  Phil ‘Windebieste’ Wlodarczyk, surrounded by old Kenner Aliens and, well, other stuff needed to shoot the video.  I’m sitting at the kitchen table and shooting the raw footage at the ‘Parrott Cage’.  This is the home of Garry Parrott, who shot Continue reading
