Showing Off NECA’s Dog Alien to its Fullest.

NECA makes some great figures. Their Dog Alien, for example, is arguably one of their best to date. It’s too bad NECA’s accessory display stand that comes with the figure is absolute shit. I mean it and just about everyone who owns one of these terrific figures will tell you the same thing “The figure is great! The display stand..? errrr…  not so much”.
So, I did a little hunting around and found some great little display stands made in China. They’re made of metal – so the C-clip won’t snap as easily as NECA’s flimsy excuse for a

display stand and only cost around $3 each. They’re cheap and perfect replacements for the pieces of rubbish that NECA package with the Dog Alien (and ‘Stompy’, too for that matter.). No doubt, they’ll also be ideal for other Aliens as well. The Covenant figure also comes to mind.

These cheap display stands don’t appear to have any brand name but are pretty easy to come by on Ebay.  Postage is usually included in the cost and they’re sold as individual items or in lots of 5 or more.  Totally worth it if you want to really liberate your digitigrade figures and genuinely show of the stances they’re capable of without being crippled by NECA’s nonsense stands.

The stands clasp the figure around the torso which is something the NECA figure needs but their included stands are is incapable of doing so.  These chinese items also offer a fair measure of extension available to them so our beautiful Dog Alien can be posed at a decent height.  Great stuff, I say.
So, I recommend you get yourself some of these cheap and easy to find display stands from Ebay.  It’s a small price to pay to properly unleash your beast’s true potential.  There’s a couple of additional benefits these cheap stands may offer.
They may assist in preventing the buckling of the lower legs during hotter months of the year – a problem some of NECA’s figures are renowned for.  Plus there’s the additional benefit of their ankles and knee joints remaining robust and firm as the weight of the figure is distributed to the stand rather than down the length of the figure itself.

Here’s NECA’s Dog Alien supported by a cheap display stand I purchased from China.  It allows the figure to be set up in a great variety of poses that NECA’s shitty piece of junk won’t permit.
So ditch that useless piece of shit NECA display stand now and get your figures lookin’ sweet!
