NECA have announced their follow up range of licenced figures based on characters appearing in the 2012 Twentieth Century Fox movie, PROMETHEUS.   Included in this set of 3 figures will be Elizabeth Shaw, Meredith Vickers and mutated Fifield.  These figures were planned for the original movie release but were not deemed popular enough by NECA at the time.  Popular request along with the upcoming new ALIEN: Covenant movie has no doubt influenced the decision to release these items.

The movie PROMETHEUS has its audiences divided but there’s no question about the quality of these figures depictions at their prototype stage of development.  Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) in particular appears to be a superb and accurate likeness to a fault.

Accessories for the figure will include a fire axe, removable helmet and severed David head. Here’s hoping the final product looks as good as it does here:

Next up is bad ass billionaire daughter,  Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron).  Vickers was one of my personal favourite characters in the movie and I’m happy to see this figure hitting the shelves some time early next year.  Accessories for the figure include a flamethrower and removable helmet.  The sculpt looks good and solid; maybe not quite as accurate as I’d like but there’s no denying who this is:

Rounding of the set of three figures is the mutated version of the ship’s geologist, “I love rocks!” Fifield.  Fifield was one of the low points of the movie for me.  His less than attractive character added very little (Geologist goes to another planet – fails to pick up a single rock) to the movie at all beyond becoming the best ‘red shirt’ amongst a crew who are all destined for horrible deaths.

Here he is, in all of his glory and possibly the best figure in the set of 3.  Well, at least if this prototype is an accurate indication of what the finished figure is to look like.  Fifield’s accessories will include a flashlight and removable helmet.   Here’s the prototype of Fifield doing his very best GG Allin impression:

Aside from each likeness, the apparel each figure is donned with looks terrific, too.  The blue suits on the women characters are fantastic as does fifield’s messed up appearance.  The torsos and limbs appear to be adequate to accommodate the 25+ points of articulation that these figures are expected to possess.

The clamshell packaged figures are expected to ship to retailers in April 2017.  Just in time for that other new movie to be released!  I’m looking forward to seeing these hit store shelves.  I love what NECA have been doing with their figures over the past few years and they’ve been improving with each new series.
