The figure below is another test shot of the same figure.  The green facehugger test shot seen in these images is for an accessory from the Call action figure of the same product line while the matching colored facehugger belongs with this sample of the newborn.

Below are some more Newborn early production samples. Far leftmost is an unpainted hard copy cast in blue resin.  Next to it is another hard copy, primed grey and ready to be painted.  On the right is a pair of first shots, these two figures are very similar in finish to the items that appear immediately above.

Here below we see some Newborn packaging.  First up is a mock up engineering pilot box with dates when this sample was assembled.  Next to that image we can see Call, the Newborn and Ripley 8 with their respective accessories; all in similar mock up packaging and matching dates (9/24/97). At the bottom right we can see the back of a finished retail quality Newborn sample.  The Kenner Standard Green Tag appearing on the back of the package indicates a quality assurance standard has been approved.  The final components of the figure and packaging are now ready for the final stage of the production run and mass assembly to be readied to ship to retail suppliers.  Of particular note on this item is the date (10/29/97) denoting a little more than a month between when the mock up samples were made and the final QA packaged item passed acceptance.

One last first shot of the same figure finally demonstrates the range of colours these early samples were cast in.
