This ALIEN 3 Dog Alien inspired figure was originally designed and slated for release during the mid 1990’s but remained unproduced at the time. It was returned to production later during that decade for Kenner’s ALIENS Hive Wars line and received mass market release as the Acid Alien ‘vicious alien warrior’. This particular sample has the 1995 date stamp on it.
The ALIENS: Hive Wars line of action figures was Kenner’s final foray into the ALIEN property before the organisation was closed down in 2001 by it’s parent company, Hasbro. At this time, Kenner Products ceased operations after more than half a century of manufacturing toys since its initial founding in 1947.

Here’s an alternate test shot casting of the same figure, sans tail. This figure isn’t necessarily broken. Incomplete test items like this one may never have had its tail attached. This may be as complete as this item ever was.
