1997, Aquatic Alien

Year: 1997
Size: 7 inches.
Product Line: Signature Series by Kenner (Hasbro).

Inspired by the flooded kitchen scene in ALIEN: Resurrection, the Aquatic Alien bears little resemblance to the creatures seen in the movie.  The addition of fins, webbed hands and feet lend the conviction this particular Alien is a water dwelling creature; and these features are discernible in this production sample.

Here is a selection of more Kenner ALIEN Resurrection Aquatic Alien first shots. Some of these prototypes feature incorrect tails.

The Aquatic Alien below is a first shot in bubble blister mock-up packaging.  It is annotated with handwritten comments indicating a necessity to realign head position and adjust the right lower leg.  Subtle changes in orientation of the figure within such mock-ups of this nature help to aid in practical finish as well as a more aesthetic presentation.  Here, the adjustment and rotation of the head will result in a more appealing profile of the Alien head and the leg adjustment will ensure the figure fits properly within the package.
