Super7’s first entry into the ALIEN property in 3.75 ReAction format was a 2 pack emulation of Kenner’s original 3.75 inch ALIEN prototype figures of the Alien and Kane. Kenner’s prototypes were created in 1979 and intended for display at Toyfair that year, hence the date connection. Unfortunately, Kenner’s legendary ALIEN product line in this scale was cancelled during that event and the items were never displayed at Toyfair. The production run remained unmade for thirty four years. This celebratory Super7 “advance promotional sample” pair was released in 2013 as tribute figures, mimicking those older, unrealised Kenner items.
This inaugural pair of collectible figures served as promotional items to the upcoming release of Super7’s Wave 1 ALIEN ReAction figures. They also mark the birth of ReAction figures as a product line. This pair of figures are cast in pale blue plastic to further emulate real world test shot prototypes. Such items are generated as part of in-house evaluation for advancing work in progress products to final retail. In this regard, this pair of items are not real prototypes but rather limited edition promotional samples with their boxed production run limited to 500 units.

Additional notes:
– Attendees at SDCC 2013 were also privileged to receive a pair of ALIEN themed action figure stands featuring a stylised graphic inspired by the vintage 1979 ALIEN product line logo. A small peg on the upper surface is suitable for mounting and displaying ReAction figures. These stands were free to attendees who provided contact details to Super7 at the convention and samples were restricted to two pieces per person.
