As the post heading and graphic above indicates, it’s now time to start talking about the KickStarter campaign that will be launched in early March. The site banner has also been modified to reflect this latest development.
I’ve just about got all of my costings figured out now. I am just waiting on quotes for hardcover edition to land in my inbox. Other than that, all the costings are in place and I am in a good position to accurately determine and finalise what the Reward Tiers and Goals will be.
I’m giving myself a good, solid 3-4 weeks on prepping for this task. It’s not hard to do once all the information is collated and I have a clear idea of costs and tasks that need to be done. what really takes time is setting up the campaign page so it looks attractive and encouraging to potential supporters.
Of course, I’m not doing this entirely on my own. I’ve taken up the services of a long time friend, SiL. He’s a fellow former staff member I worked with at the now long defunct Planet AvP. SiL will be responsible for creating the KickStarter video that will accompany the campaign. Not only is it one less item on my plate I have to do – and an important one at that – but he’ll do a better job than I will be able to. I’ll once again employ the services of another long time friend, Le Celticant, to provide the soundtrack. He’s is a long time peer from the AvP2 modding Community. Le Celticant provided the soundtrack for the HIDEOUS PLASTIC – Reveal video released when this site was launched back in December, last year. I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with together.
Once the KickStarter campaign is launched, it will run for 60 days. I’m not in a hurry and I certainly don’t want to close the campaign on stragglers who need additional time to decide to support the Project or hear about it belatedly. By having the campaign run the full length of April I also hope to take advantage of 4/26 Day for the closing days of the campaign to generate that last burst of support that always makes a difference to campaigns such as this.
More updates when I have News but right now, everything is proceeding according to plans.
