NECA have released a ton of information and images regarding their CLUB x ALIEN initiative. Included in the details is News about international partners, bonus revelations and some clarifications about what membership content entails.
Just take a look at that official image! If that doesn’t conjure up your best notions of what Saturday morning cartoons should be like, then nothing will. Actually it’s easier if I just let NECA have their say:

“1. INTERNATIONAL PARTNER SITES
Next week, fans in Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan will be able to enroll in NECA CLUB x ALIEN! We will post links as soon as these sites are live.
“2. PACK-IN BONUSES REVEALED
People have been dying to know what special bonuses they can expect with NECA CLUB x ALIEN, and we simply can’t keep it a secret any longer! Check out the full details below as well as a full photo gallery.
“Packed in with Series 11 and Series 12, Club members will find a very special chapter of Alien collectibles history. The 3-D pop-up Space Base playset was exclusive to the UK with certain Kenner action figures in the mid 1990s. Now, 20 years later, we are bringing this back just for the Club, and we have increased the size of the set to be in scale with our 7” Aliens action figures.
“Each of the 6 pieces we’ve replicated was a different “zone” of the base, like the Lab Area or Main Control Deck, and each had part of a running story on the back. When fully, assembled the Space Base extends over 3 feet in length and is 11” tall.

Well, that just about sorts out all those details. Now Club X is going to be available in Australia? Sweet! …but will there be any Arcturian Poontang on stage at this Club X? That’s the big question I want answered. Whatever. This promotion should fulfill all of your weird-ass psychedelic play time yearnings for years to come! All Kenner inspired, too. Suits me.
Nonetheless, this announced exclusive bonus does look a little cheap to me. It reminds me not so much of 1990’s playsets but rather something much earlier. It reminds me of 1960’s cereal packet cut outs and premiums. You’d find such things on the backs of Kellog’s breakfast cereals decades ago and you could cut them out of the back of the packet to use them as backdrops to display your Crater Critters.
What..? You don’t know what Crater Critters are? Pfff… Well, that’s your loss. 😛
