Budget toy manufacturer Lanard Toys will be releasing a range of colourful ALIENS COLLECTION play sets next year. Currently 3 items have been made available for pre-order from Smyths in the UK.
It looks like our friend the Big Chap and the Dox Alien will be available in a pair of 2 packs that will include ‘colonial marines’ along with a handful of other accessories. These toys appear to be in the 5 inch range, or there about. Gauging by these images, it looks there will be around 15 points of articulation on the Aliens. Space marines with rifles, motorcycle, facehugger and Alien egg are included across these packages.
A 12 inch Alien Queen with 20 points of articulation including “chomping jaw attack” is also available for pre-order at GBP$19.99 (US$25, I guess). It looks like no accessories will accompany this boss purple figure.

Here’s some information from the manufacturer: “Alien prepare yourself! Calling all colonial marines! Get ready to gear-up and take on the most fearsome creatures to inhabit planet lv- 426 and beyond in an epic space battle! The dreaded xenomorphs have multiplied in vast numbers, threatening the lives that inhabit space colonies reaching to the far ends of the universe. Gather your crew to take on, fight, and eradicate the ever-growing numbers of these terrifying aliens!” In recent years, Lanard released official movie inspired toys based on ‘Kong – Skull Island’ and ‘Jumanji’ licences. It follows then that these upcoming Lanard ALIENS figures will also be fully authorised and licenced.
These are expected to be released in early April, 2020 and will cost GBP9.99 (about US$15) for a box of cheap toys that will no doubt have a lot of appeal with fans. Curiously, these toys based on an R-rated movie are being age rated for children, ages 7+. I’m not sure how that’s been determined as ALIEN merchandise hasn’t been considered appropriate for children for about 20 years now. Very interesting, I say and I will be keeping an eye on these fun looking items.

Additional ALIEN products from Lanard are planned for release in the 2nd half of 2020. These have not been revealed as of yet and probably won’t be seen until sometime next year. All the same, I’m looking forward to seeing these released.
