During the past week or so, there’s been quite a few loose parts for Kenner ALIEN toys listed on eBay. It looks like two different figures by two different sellers have disassembled a pair of toys and are now listing them as individual pieces. The great thing about this toy is its ability to be completely disassembled without damaging it and replacing degraded parts with superior samples purchased online.
At one stage, at least one complete set of parts was available – possibly two – but critical pieces that are in high demand such as any domes, shoulder crests and tongues sell very quickly and are now gone. Many pieces still remain with the last tongue piece, an arm, a tail and a head will typically follow next to become unavailable. Usually the front torso and legs are the final items remaining to be sold. Eventually, they will all go, regardless of price. Of course, you could purchase all of these remaining parts if you wanted to but you wouldn’t be able to build a complete figure. Some are missing and there are duplicates of others. But you would build a one armed Alien with three legs – now wouldn’t that be a fun custom piece in your display cabinet?
