For those of you living in my part of the world and are looking for a 1979 Kenner ALIEN toy in Australia, you’re in luck. One has become available on eBay for auction right now. It’s being sold in Adelaide and this figure includes the box as well. Bidding starts at AU$999.99 (around US$618) a decent price for one of these grotesque vintage toys. 
This sample of the toy was manufactured in the US and this figure appears to be complete and in very good condition. It’s dorsal crest is inverted and it is unknown if it’s mounting slot is broken or not. The rest of the figure looks to be very attractive – well, as attractive as one of these nefarious old toys can get. Anyway, the dome is also present as are both tongue halves. The jaw activation trigger works perfectly and it’s overall a lovely piece. The box is a little beat up, crushed and held into shape with some sticky tape. Nonetheless it’s still a valuable piece of packaging. There’s no indication as to whether the poster is included in the listing. Inquiring about the presence of this inclusion with a quick message to the seller might be a good idea, Either way, figures with boxes are easily the most expensive samples available and at this price, it’s a fair deal, for one of these items in Australia. Which leads to one other consideration to be made here.
While 1979 Kenner ALIEN toys are relatively common in the US, they can be uncommon or even considered rare in other parts of the world. As this item is being sold in Australia, and isolated as this country is, it generally means these old toys are scarce to say the least. Prices are greatly inflated here in regards to everything and yet believe it or not, this item is priced at a reasonable rate. A figure and box in this country is uncommon and as a global currency, the Aussie dollar right now is taking a comprehensive nose dive into the toilet bowl. Which means, at this price, someone in this country will bid on this item to become the owner of a four decades old vintage toy of ill repute – and be proud of it.
