Mexican Bootleg Dinosaur Alien Thingie.

If there is one thing I love about the ALIEN collector community, it’s diversity. The amazing range of collectible items ranges from small to large across four decades. While much of it is officially licenced and released to a surprisingly large and eager market, there’s also plenty of room – and demand, it appears – for a burgeoning bootleg output to exist as well.

For decades now, Mexico has taken the pole position in this regard. Not so much because their clandestine product is any good; but simply rather due to the opposite being true. Here, take this Predator riding an Alien crossed with a dinosaur for example. Isn’t this wild? Isn’t this outstanding? Isn’t this lurid, dubious and beguiling all the same breath? No one crafts unlicenced, head scratching product quite like they do in Mexico.

No doubt this item is yet another recast of the fantastic Broodlord X-Rex figure released some time back by Rebor. But wait! This item includes a great selection of accessories, too. There’s a diminutive Predator mounted on the back of the figure, a small egg with a facehugger squeezing the living daylights out of it; and a much larger green egg that appears to be a container for all these fine, albeit dubious, goodies to be stowed in.

Fantastic! Now, here’s the best part… From what I’ve been able to ascertain, that big green egg (and possibly the “xenosaurus” figure) has a push button strobe light inside. Push the button beneath, and the whole egg lights up in a variety of colors, flashing and cycling through a variety of patterns! Yeah! Well, that’s what I am hoping for. Anyway, if you want one of these oddities in your life, they are available from Mexico via eBay from an unknown manufacturer.

You know you want one, right? God, I love lurid junk.
