It’s Thursday, April 26, 2018 and that makes it ALIEN Day. YAAAYYY!!! Well, notwithstanding time zones, that is. It’s nigh on 8am, Thursday, here in Australia already. 4/26 is the day 20th Century Fox decided to celebrate the ALIEN property which has been around for almost 40 years now and while some people feel that the movies have been divisive it hasn’t stopped an ever growing amount of interest and corresponding marketing and merchandise to go unchecked. So Fox decided to shove it all into one big, phat celebration of corporate entertainment and serve it up with lashings of announcements. Isn’t that sweet of them?
Which makes ALIEN Day the day of Big Reveals from companies licencing the popular property from 20th Century Fox. Today we expect announcements and potentially content to be released by various companies, large and small. “Among the key licensees returning to the Alien Day celebration include Dark Horse, Eaglemoss, The Loyal Subjects, Fright Rags, Geek Fuel, Mattel, Super 7, Diamond Select, Wonderdice, Park Agencies, Heighway Pinball Limited, Titan, NECA, Mondo, Prime 1, Trevco, Changes, Funko, and more.“
That’s a ton of goodies to look forward to! I am personally anticipating the possible reveal and more information regarding Super7’s upcoming Wave 3 ALIEN ReAction figures. Hell, it wouldn’t surprise me if they become available from their online store as soon as, well, TODAY! *swoon* That would be nice. Let’s see what happens, today!
That’s not all, though. Fans are also getting in on the Big Day with their own celebrations and reveals. Enthusiastically generated content coming from our peers is always welcome. Gotta love it. So, I am also looking forward to the wonderful fan made stuff we will see released today. That’s going to be a great treat of itself and I’m ecstatic to see what you guys have for the rest of us.
