It’s been 10 years since Super7 released the first of their collectible 3.75 inch ReAction figure line at San Diego Comic Con, 2013 (SDCC13) with ALIEN spearheading the product range. This year marks that milestone, celebrating the company’s productive decade of continuous releases. What better way to do so than with a pair of unique silver coated Alien and Kane ReAction figures.

These 3.75 inch collectible toys were originally inspired by abandoned ALIEN product line prototypes made by Kenner Products in 1979. Unfortunately, the original Kenner line was cancelled and never advanced into production. Three decades later and inspired by Kenner’s cancelled range of toys, Super7 stepped in to fill this void and released their ALIEN ReAction (Retro-Action) figure product line in 2013. The past 10 years have seen a prolific output ranging in a wide variety of characters from movies, television shows and other popular culture properties in this old school format.

Significantly, 2013 saw Super7 release their inaugural ReAction product line with a boxed set of “prototype” samples of the Alien and Kane in his compression suit. Cast in a light blue with clear plastic parts, these now 10 year old items were exclusively available at SDCC13. Since then, both Alien and Kane have seen multiple ReAction figure iterations and variants. These silver coated samples pictured above emulate those features, except, well, they’re silver.

At some point in time, Super7 may choose to actually recognise and celebrate the significance of the passing decade of ALIEN ReAction figures. Right now, the unofficial word I’ve received about any future ALIEN releases in this format from the company is “not any time soon”. No dates or upcoming release announcements for any further ALIEN product have been made by Super7 at this time. What does this mean in terms of the wonderful looking silver samples posted above? They are indeed silver coated ReAction figures but the greater truth is necessary to divulge.

This pair of ALIEN ReAction figures here are readily available right now; and have been so for nine years. These two items are regular Wave 1 black carded figures of the Alien and Kane which have been custom painted head to toe with Molotow Liquid Chrome*. This presentation of the Alien and Kane is solely my personal way of unofficially celebrating their 10th Anniversary – in an albeit cheeky manner. So don’t get too excited about these items ever becoming publicly available from Super7. Super7 have had no input on these items. If you want a pair of silver ALIEN ReAction figures, then you will have to paint them yourself.*
