Catching up on some belated New York Toy Fair 2020 News, Super7 had on display packaging for their range of ALIENS ReAction figures at this recent event.

Coming soon are Hicks, Vasquez, Hudson, Ripley, Bishop and Newt. A set of 3 xenomorphs, Nightfall, Dusk and Midnight have already been released and available from Super7’s online store. Other online retail outlets already have Ripley, Newt and the super neat pull apart bishop figure listed for a while now. Super7’s latest ALIENS ReAction figures are now available online at their webstore. This set of figures comprises of 3 variants of the sequel’s Xenomorph in 3.75 inch scale and packaged on card backs.The 3 figures are (from left to right) “Nigthfall”, “Midnight” and “Dusk” variants and each features fresh sculpts, notably of the head, arms, hands and feet. Coming soon – very soon by the looks of it – is this pair of ALIEN themed bubble bath items from Super7.  As announced on their Facebook page today, these will be available as  early as tomorrow. While we are happily celebrating the announcement of 3 new 3.75 inch ReAction ALIENS Xenomorphs to be released next Wednesday, keep in mind Big Bad Toy Store has a continuing discount on Super7’s other 18 inch tall Kenner tribute ALIENS figures.

The black (Classic Toy) and brushed bronze (Marine Ambush) editions are both US$60 while the translucent (Acid Green) edition is US$100.  Substantial discounts on their initial release price of US$195 each all around. While more expensive, I strongly believe the translucent green figure is the best of this batch of Kenner ALIEN reproduction pieces.  I am certain the brushed bronze version has been discounted by a further US$10 since I last looked into these figures which are still available on BBTS.  So that’s good news for anyone who has held off on purchasing one of those items until now.

Yes.  I have review’d each of these items.  Here are my appraisals of these three: black, translucent green and brushed bronze versions.

Super7 today revealed on Facebook today the first 3 production items in their ALIENS line of ReAction figures.  Featured in this initial release are 3 Xenomorph Warriors, each one is a different sculpt and colour. Here we have the ‘Nightfall’, ‘Midnight’ and ‘Dusk’ variants of each figure all carded in 1986 flavours.  The year 1986 that is, dummy; not the actual number of flavours.

Packaged on ALIENS themed card with an image of the Queen on the reverse side, these items are just the first phase of a much bigger release coming from Super7 which will feature some of the marines along with Ripley and Newt scheduled for later this year.

These 3 items will be up for grabs from the Super7 online store next Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  Here’s some word from Super7 about this trilogy of terror, “They’re coming out of the walls! “Super7 is terrified to debut the first releases in the new Aliens 3.75-inch ReAction Figures line! Unleashing next week are the Alien Warriors awaiting Ripley and the Marines on Acheron (LV-426). The figures are brand new sculpts based on the Alien Warriors from everyone’s favorite 2nd Alien movie. Today Super7 released this image on Facebook of a trio of Xenomorph ReAction figures.  We’ve known for some time Super7 have intended to expand their ALIENS line and here’s our first peek into what’s in store for the coming months with this gloomy and moody setting only partially concealing the horrors that lay in wait.Quite an atmospheric shot of upcoming 3.75 inch tall Aliens lurking in the darkness.  Hinting at different colours, these items are no doubt the ‘Dusk’, ‘Midnight’ and ‘Nightfall’ Xenomorph figures we’ve previously been alerted to. No doubt they mostly come out at night.  Mostly.

Not much information on hand but Super7 had this to say about this gruesome trio lurking on the edge of twilight, “”This time it’s war.” #comingsoon#reactionfigures#super7“.  Needless to say I am excited to see the 1986 branch of the ALIENS ReAction line expanding in this direction. Especially considering ALIENS had no such product available at the time of the movie’s release in 1986.

Super7’s latest Supercast – Episode 19 – reveals upcoming ALIEN Wave 3 ReAction figures.  This release will see the bloody Alien with its tongue extended, Dallas in screen accurate colours and Ripley with Jones appearing on snappy, blue cards.

Each of these figures were released in a range of 3 box sets of 3 figures apiece some time back.  Furthermore, each of these characters have been released previously on blue cards as part of original Wave 1 variants.  So, unless you want to complete an entire set of Wave 3 ALIEN ReAction figures that was partially released earlier, then these items will duplicate what you already have and they may not be of great interest to you.  Do you really want 4 different versions of the ALIEN just because it’s on blue card?  …hhhhmmm… Continue reading →

On Facebook, Super7 have announced “Super7 Days of Christmas” and for the next week will be making never seen before items become available on their online store.  The first item on the list, the Acid Rain Toxic Avenger is already available. As you can see, a new ALIEN figure is slated for Friday 13.

What will this figure be?  A new ReAction figure is likely, but it could be anything.  Some speculation is the new item may be the blue carded Ripley figure that was missing from the NY Comic Con 6 set of figures from a year ago. Maybe a new sparkling glitter ALIEN? That would be nice! Maybe something bigger. Maybe a new lurid 18 inch tall translucent purple glow in the dark SuperSize Kenner tribute ALIENS figure..? Am I just exercising some outlandish wishful thinking, here? For sure; but I know people who go nuts for that!

We’ll have to wait until Friday 13 to find out.  Maybe it’s an ALIEN in a hockey mask brandishing a large kitchen knife..?

Big Bad Toy Store has listed pre-orders now open for Super7’s upcoming range of pocket size ALIENS ReAction figures.  There appears to be a total of 9 items comprising this set of blister carded figures.  Marines Vasquez, Hudson and Hicks will be joined by android Bishop, Newt and Ripley. It looks like rounding out the final 3 places on the release roster will be a trio of different xenomorph variants.

No images are included in the pre-order listings but we at least know what the 3 xenomorph names are. Given that these items are identified as ‘Dusk’, ‘Midnight’ and ‘Nightfall’ it can be safely said these xenomorphs mostly come out at night.  Mostly.

Also of note is the price hike on these items.  These new 3.75 inch figures will cost US$17.99 apiece, an increase of US$3 from previous releases.  No indication as to when these will become available; but soon is very likely.

For those of you wanting a nice, fresh interpretation of the 40 year old Kenner ALIEN toy re-imagined as a 1986 release could have been (There were no action figure tie-ins accompanying the release of ALIENS in 1986.) then Big Bad Toy Store have been continuing their discount sale on these 18 inch tall Super7 SuperSize ALIENS items.

Up for grabs are the black ClassicToy Edition (with glow in the dark highlights on the head) and the wonderful translucent Acid Green Edition at US$99.99 apiece.  Super7’s most recent release, the Bronze (aka Marine Ambush) Edition xenomorph, is available for US$155.99.

These discounts have been available for some time at BBTS.  Unfortunately the adorable and beautiful baby blue limited edition simulated ‘prototype/test shot’ of this figure has been long sold out and is no longer available.

At these prices, these figures are definitely worth getting, especially the black and green figures at US$100 apiece.

Word from Power-Con held this past weekend in Anaheim, California is very enticing.  The convention is dedicated to all things Masters of the Universe (MotU). Super7, a licenced manufacturer of Official MotU product was an exhibitor at the event.  Word has it that Super7 will be releasing their first wave of carded ALIENS ReAction figures later this year.

Convention attendee, Abel Pinedo, talked to Super7 representatives and conveyed this little detail on Facebook, “Aliens is slated for the end of the year.”  he tells us.

It looks like 3.75 inch Colonial Marines for Christmas!  That’s only 4 months away, now.  We’ve known about the upcoming ReAction ALIENS line for a long time as they were revealed at New York Toy Fair earlier this year and I can’t wait!  I’m hoping the range of figures hasn’t changed as these items look fantastic.  Ripley, Vasquez, Hicks, Hudson, Bishop, Newt and a pesky Xenomorph are anticipated to comprise this 6 piece release.

Almost a week ago, Big Bad Toy Store discounted the price on their stock of Super7 ALIENS Acid Green Warrior figure by US$100, bringing the price of the tribute item down from US$174.99 to US$74.99.  It appears BBTS have since realised their overly generous reduction on the item and raised the price by US$25 to US$99.99.

This is a totally kick ass piece and I reviewed it some time back here on HIDEOUS PLASTIC.  Even at this increased price it’s still a killer item.  I know quite a few people who’ve already dived onto the opportunity to purchase one at the lower price point.  Now  I’m wondering how many of these wonderful 18 inch translucent green ALIENS figures BBTS has remaining in stock.  Even at this new price there’s a substantial saving to be had so they can’t have too many left – unless they are severely overstocked.

Get one now if you are remotely interested in purchasing it because you can bet once eBay scalpers catch wind of this great offer, you’ll be paying inflated prices elsewhere.

Big Bad Toy Store has some hefty discounts on their stock of Super7 ALIENS figures based on the old 1979 Kenner ALIEN toy.  Significantly is the Acid Green ALIENS figure reduced from US$174.99 to US$74.99.  A discount of US$100 is a substantial drop.  Also reduced is the black Super7 Classic Toy Edition with glow in the dark accents on the head.  This item has been reduced from US$174.99 to US$99.99.  Also a significant savings.  Get one of each!  At these prices, you’re practically buying 2 for the price of one, especially considering on initial release each of these figures originally cost US$195 apiece.
