“A New Toy Joins the ‘TOY STORY’ Gang”

This is a well known cartoon, drawn by illustrator Kev Brockschmidt. It captures the essence of an ALIEN action figure interacting with it’s playtime peers, rending other toys limb from limb and leaving carnage in its wake. It particularly draws on expressing the astonishment of R-rated movies being the source of toys for children. It’s a wonderful backhanded celebration of Kenner’s ALIEN toys of yesteryear, ranging from their original nefarious release of 1979 and through the decade of the 1990s. Kenner released several product lines of toys inspired by all of the ALIEN movies during the late 20th Century. All of those toy lines featuring implacable hostile space creatures marketed towards children based on movies children were not recommended to be exposed. It’s a fabulous piece of single panel art and commentary.
