Toyworld Re-Stocks Lanard ALIEN Toys.

It appears Australia’s largest toy retailer, Toyworld, have re-stocked Lanard Toys ALIEN Collection series toys. Available here once again are the 7 inch Special Edition items:  Drone, Warrior and Runner Xenomorphs. Each lurid and wonderful item inspired by ALIEN comics and other media is available online for Au$27.99 (plus postage). This is the 2nd ’round for this set of Lanard ALIEN figures appearing in Australia’s Toyworld; and it’s a welcome return. We don’t see much in the way of ALIEN content released here. You won’t find ’em at TARGET. They just never get stocked. You’ll have to rely on specialist stores or importers to get anything related to ALIEN stuff in this country – and it’s ALWAYS a lot more expensive. While it’s great to see this series back at Toyworld, I still hope to see the recently released Glow in the Dark interpretations also be released at Toyworld at some point. I have had assurances that will happen. Eventually. Sort of. Maybe… Who knows at this rate, right? Anyway, I’ve had this trio of Special Edition toys for some time now and reviewed them. Grab a set for your kids. After all, these are intended as toys for children and not just fake toys for collectors to hoard in pristine boxes and deny their kids the opportunity to even touch them. Give your kids some Lanard Love, I say. Give ’em some face ripping space monsters of their own they can cherish dearly. These things are great!

Lanard Toys – Glow in the Dark Aliens – First Peek.

Lanard Toys are about to expand their ALIEN Collection series. Coming soon will be a set of new Alien toys in the 7 inch range. At least three known figures are depicted in this recently released, “Lanard Toys – 2022 Predator and Alien Collection Reveal – Your Exclusive First Look” video featuring upcoming Predators and Aliens.

At this stage, these appear to be using existing sculpts from Lanard’s previous Wave of ALIENS toys but they do possess one significant feature. This wave appears to glow in the dark! Now, that’s a big attraction for myself and many other fans I know.

Lanard’s upcoming line of ALIEN toys can trace it’s heritage back more than forty years.  There have been many glowing ALIEN “toys” over the years but the feature first appeared on the original ALIEN toy released by Kenner in 1979. While the glow feature was restricted to parts of the head, Kenner never released a full head to toe glowing ALIEN toy. Since then, glow in the dark ALIEN toys have been released by many companies.

Lanard’s complete range of 2022 ALIEN toys is expected to have a full announcement very soon.

REVIEWED: Lanard ALIEN Toys, Wave 2.

Finally, after waiting for more than a year, Lanard Toys ALIEN collection have landed on Australian shores. I bought a set of three, the Drone, Warrior and Runner figures. I picked up this trio of little darlin’s earlier this week from Toyworld. These things are great. Yesterday, I spent all day playing with them and using them to terrify the neighbour’s cat. Oh, and I wrote a review as well. You can read ’bout my thoughts on the Lanard Toys ALIEN Collection Wave 2 right here. The neighbour’s cat sure didn’t think much of these things but who cares?  I love ’em. Any love for the neighbour’s cat, though? Not so much.

Lanard Toys – ALIENS Arrive in Australia.

After some indications on Facebook reporting that Lanard Toys ALIEN items were spotted in Toyworld stores, I decided to check out my local site. I could see the afternoon was clouding over, rain was forecast. Nonetheless, the closest store is an easy thirty minute walk for me. Entering the store and stepping up the counter, I did not have to venture far inside before I found proof Lanard Toys ALIEN items have indeed arrived in Australia. Here is proof. The Queen posing on the countertop, freshly removed from her packing case. So yes. The Lanard Toys ALIEN Collection line is now available in Australia. As this item was freshly unpacked from inventory that had just arrived, it lacks any pricing. The woman serving the counter was still unpacking what looked like a truck load of fresh stock that needed to be processed. I don’t think they were all Aliens. That would be awesome! She was busy but still willing to answer questions. At this point, only the ALIEN Queen had been divested from today’s delivery, and was yet to be entered into the store’s system. The woman at the counter was unable to provide me with any price as the item was not yet processed and not yet available for sale.

Not to worry. I am so happy these items have arrived in the country. I have been told recently that it would be another two months before we can expect to see them here. Obviously, the stagecoach has arrived early.

We now have ALIEN Lanard Toys in Australia. Great stuff! Yes this did make me happy. Was it happy enough to not worry about walking home in the rain? No. I took a bus.

Lanard Toys ALIEN Video Preview.

Walter McCloud (aka Lanardolicious) has posted a video review of upcoming series 2 of Lanard ALIEN toys. Considering this range of 7 inch toys won’t be available until after Christmas, this video is a preview as much as it serves as a review. That’s an important detail you will need to consider as these items have not been released yet. Nonetheless, this video appraisal investigates each of the 3 figures in this upcoming 7 inch line, focusing on each figure’s details, articulation points and the various accessories included with each package.

Lanard will be releasing this new range of toys soon after Christmas and they will be available from Walmart – and Smyths in the UK – with a price tag of $10 each. I am 100% on board with releasing toys for children, aged 7 (and up) inspired on face ripping space monstery goodness from a series of R-rated movies. Now, Lanard, can we please see these released in Australia? That would be sweet …and New Zealand, too, while you’re at it. Hell, anywhere south of the Equator would be ideal.

Lanard Reveal 7 Inch ALIEN Collection Toys.

Lanard Toys have upped the scale of their ALIEN Collection toys in Wave 2 of this series of popular ALIEN range with their upcoming “Special Edition Collector Series”. This will be a set of three 7 inch figures, doubling the size of their previous line of 3.75 inch ALIEN toys. Here’s an unboxing video of what you can expect the upcoming toy range to look like:

Present in this new line of toys will be creatures already released by Lanard but in a new, larger 1/12 scale. All three original ALIEN movies are represented with with larger versions of each of the Drone, Warrior and Dog Aliens. Each includes accessories with the Runner Alien from ALIEN 3 being the stand out package in this line up as it is accompanied by Murphy’s Rottweiler, Spike. No goofy repurposed space marines – not yet, anyway – have been revealed as part of this line up. Nonetheless, more unannounced ALIEN Collection products are planned for release by Lanard Toys; but for now, this “Special Edition Collector Series” selection is a tremendous follow up to their already popular line up.

These ALIEN toys will retail for around $10 apiece; and when these toys do become available to the public, they will be age rated for 7 year olds. Buy some ten dollar face ripping joy for your child! They will be available through Walmart in the US and are also expected to appear on shelves at Smyths stores in the UK. Release date for these is anticipated to be soon after Christmas.

Great stuff! I love it.

Video Review – Lanard Toys ALIEN by Kaiju King.

Here’s a superb unboxing and video review from The Kaiju King featuring Lanard Toys ALIEN Collection series. There’s a lot of joy to be taken from this video as this young lad – whose name I didn’t quite catch –  unpacks and provides his appraisal of his new toys.

I watch a lot of ALIEN action figure and collectible reviews on YouTube and this one has definitely become a favourite. Just about every other video I’ve seen features adults reviewing adult ALIEN collectibles. It’s refreshing to see such a young child evaluating ALIEN toys that are actually appropriate to his age group. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with adults messing around with such playthings on camera, either; but this young fellow hits all the right points including some critical evaluation towards the end. Fun stuff. Great job there, Kid. More videos from you about upcoming Lanard ALIEN toys will be greatly appreciated.  More, please!

Lanard Toys Wave 2 ALIENS Collection.

Lanard Toys are soon releasing Wave 2 of their current ALIENS Collection toys product line. Two large box set collections featuring different colorways of extant toys from the manufacturer will soon be released via Walmart in the US and Smythes in the UK. The ALIEN QUEEN ULTRA SET features a new take on their previously available purple Queen Alien along with a pair of Aliens (also cast in alternate colours), a facehugger, an egg and a hapless Marine. Now this looks like a great, all encompassing set of ALIEN toys specifically intended as children’s toys. Continue reading

Lanard Toys ALIENS Visual Checklist.

UPDATE: Replaced older WIP image with higher resolution V2 of the Visual guide.

Here it is. A visual guide to the content comprising Lanard Toys recently released range of ALIEN Collection action figures in the 4-5 inch range. This is a complete montage of all available pieces, some of which are currently exclusive to Walmart.

Word is this selection is intended to be Wave 1 of ongoing production for these toys. I believe Lanard Toys will follow through with more ambitious items in their ALIENS line if these items sell well. If that’s the case, this selection of a baker’s dozen pieces is set to expand. I’m all for it; just waiting with (im)patience for these things to land on Australian shores. I am told that will happen sometime soon.

Honestly, I do want to see more made. These things look fantastic – especially the lollypop coloured Aliens – and other people I have spoken to who already have them have assured me they are great. Wave 2 is more than welcome. Let’s make sure that happens and purchase these wonderful things.
